What is the procedure to transfer a co.za Domain name ?

COZA Domain Transfers with NumAfrica

(Uniforum) co.za transfers work on a email based voting system to approve a domain transfer request.

To initiate the transfer of a CO.ZA domain from your previous host to NumAfrica, the following process is undertaken:

  • Confirm that you have access to the emmail adress used to register the Domain
  • Confirm that the Domain is registred with your details
  • This can be confirmed using the whois details in the ordering system
  • Select Transfer Domain when ordering a hosting product
  • A transfer will be initiated by the NumAfrica Domain Registration system
  • CO.ZA have an automated ticketman that will then submit this request to all the registered contacts of the domain.
  • You can see these details by running a Whois query on the domain.
  • This Ticket request can be accepted, denied or ignored by the current host.
  • If the Ticket is ACCEPTED and NOT denied by any other person then the domain will be updated at CO.ZA and NumAfrica will be in control of the domain.
  • If the Ticket is DENIED by any one of the contacts. Then the transfer ticket request will be denied and no transfer will take place at CO.ZA.
  • If the Ticket is IGNORED by all contacts then this acts as if the Ticket was declined.
    • NOTE: Usually a host will deny a ticket request if there is an outstanding amount due, or if the cancellation requirements have not been met.
  • At this stage the old registrar/host should now approve the transfer request sent by NumAfrica and your domain should be transferred within 24-48 hours.
  • If a ticket is unsuccessful all effort will be made to identify why the ticket was denied and you will be informed of this. Once the problem is resolved, another transfer ticket request will be sent.
