Wireless Access Point Checklist

  • Unit is powered and operational
  • The unit has been reset to factory defaults
  • Connect the ethernet cable to the AP and configuring machine
  • Assign a static ip to the machine for configuration (Remove once setup has been completed and tested)
  • Logon to the AP using the ip on the unit or in the supplied documentation
  • Change the default password
  • Change the default IP
  • Disable the AP DHCP Server
  • Enter the new SSID
  • Enter the security settings for the AP
  • Check Channel settings if required
  • Check SSID broadcasting if required
  1. Remove cable and test the AP within range.
  2. Test AP range and connection
